Programme

The Forum will help students and young graduates understand how they, as Christians, can make a difference to the future of Europe through participation in EU decision making, in involvement in civil society at home and internationally, and through the careers they will choose.

Plenary sessions (including Bible expositions and topic-of-the-day lectures), mini-sessions (seminars), interactive small groups and workshops on the "European Project" will be supplemented by a visit to the European Parliament and the opportunity to interact with several MEPs. Key note lessons will provide students with an introduction to the history of Europe, a presentation of the EU and its future. There will also be opportunities to discuss a film and to visit the centre of Brussels. Participants will share quality time with mentors from various professions.

Besides plenary sessions, there will be opportunity to choose between a variety of interactive mini-sessions to suit own interests and possible career ideas. These will include:

  •  The realities of being an ethical politician / businessperson / journalist
  •  Ethical political lobbying skills
  •  Faith in the public arena? Secularism's concerns
  •  Our responsibility in protecting and spreading human rights
  •  European culture and faith
  •  and more
